MOROCCO (المملكة المغربية)
Country which is located in northwest Africa. It is situated on the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. The capital of Morocco is Rabat. The neighboring countries of Morocco are Algeria, Spain and the Western Sahara. Religion is primarily Islam – over 95% of people adhere to this religion. Morocco is mainly home to Arabs and Berbers, although you can meet many representatives of other nations. For this reason, the languages spoken in this country are Arabic, Berber and French. Morocco’s political system is a constitutional monarchy.
WESTERN SAHARA (الصحراء الغربية)
It is a former Spanish colony in North Africa, but it is currently difficult to determine the status of this country. Western Sahara shares borders with Morocco, Algeria and Mauritania. Morocco treats the Western Sahara as part of the state, making it a contested region where armed clashes take place. This country is headed by the president.
MAURITANIA (موريتانيا)
It is a country in North-West Africa. It borders with Senegal, Mali, Algeria and the Western Sahara. Much of the country is the Sahara Desert. In Mauritania, rivers are seasonal, and the only large river that does not run dry is Senegal. In Mauritania, the political system is a parliamentary republic where the law of Islam and French law are important. Mauritania is a very poor country with Moors, Arabs, Berbers and Africans.
ALGERIA (الجزائر)
The largest country in Africa. Much of Algeria is covered by deserts and semi-deserts. The majority of Algeria’s population are Arabs and Berbers. It shares borders with Tunisia, Libya, Niger, Mali, Mauritania, Western Sahara and Morocco. Arabic and French are spoken in Algeria. The main religion is Islam, but here and there you can find Jews and Christians. The political system of Algeria is a semi-presidential republic.
TUNISIA (تونس)
It is a country in North Africa. It borders with Algeria and Libya. Due to the French occupation, French influences can still be found in many places. The most common language used is Arabic. Tunisia is a republic. Due to its accessibility, it is one of the most popular countries among tourists.
LIBYA (ليبيا)
It is a country located in North Africa, on the Gulf of Great Sirte. The capital city is the city of Tripoli. It borders with Egypt, Sudan, Chad, Niger, Algeria and Tunisia. More than 90% of the country’s area is deserts (Sahara, Libyan Desert) and semi-deserts, with oases. Libya is a parliamentary republic whose primary language is Arabic. The dominant religion is Islam. There are Arabs, Berbers, Turks, Greeks, Maltese, Italians, Pakistanis, Indians, and Tunisians living in Libya.
IRAQ (العراق)
It is located in the Middle East, on the Persian Gulf. It covers the entire territory of former Mesopotamia. The main languages are Arabic and Kurdish. The dominant religion is Islam. Iraq’s political system is a parliamentary democracy. Arabs, Kurds, Assyrians, Armenians and Persians live here. Iraq is a country where you can find huge amounts of crude oil and natural gas.
UNITED ARAB EMIRATES (الإمارات العربية المتحدة)
It is an Arab state in the Middle East. It borders with Saudi Arabia and Oman. It is made up of seven emirates connected and managed as one structure. Arabs, Persians and people from Asia live here. The United Arab Emirates professes Islam, Christianity, Hinduism and Buddhism. The languages spoken here are Arabic, English, Persian and Urdu. The city that is most associated with this country is Dubai.
EGYPT (مصر)
It is the center of the Arab world. It borders with Israel, Palestine, Sudan and Libya. Egyptians call their country the mother of the whole world. The Nile flows through Egypt – a river without which there would be no civilization. In Egypt, everything Arabic is the most important. English is widely used there together with Arabic, namely the Egyptian dialect (it is recognized as full-fledged Arabic). There is democracy in Egypt. Religions present here are Islam and Christianity (the Coptic Church is a separate branch of Christianity). The largest film industry in the Arab world is located right here.
JORDAN (الأردن)
It is a country which is located in Asia. It borders with Israel, Palestine, Syria, Iraq and Saudi Arabia. Jordan has limited access to the sea (the only port city is العقبة). Jordan is a constitutional monarchy. Arabs, Circassians and Armenians live here. Jordanians profess Islam, Christianity and Buddhism.
SYRIA (سوريا)
The largest country of the fertile crescent. Damascus is located here (a city very important in the world of Arab culture), which is the world’s oldest continuously inhabited city. It borders Turkey, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon and Israel. The political system of Syria is a semi-presidential republic, and the main language is Arabic. The main religion is Islam, but representatives of Christianity and other faiths can be found. The population of Syria is mostly Arabs, Kurds and Armenians.

It is a country in Asia, located on the Arabian Peninsula. It borders with the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Yemen. Oman’s political system is an absolute monarchy. Arabs, Hindus, Pakistanis and Filipinos live here. The main religions are Islam, Christianity, Hinduism and Buddhism.
YEMEN (اليمن)
It is a country located in south-west Asia on the Arabian Peninsula, and on the Socotra archipelago in East Africa. On the island of Socotra, the most Yemeni variety of Arabic is studied. It borders with Saudi Arabia and Oman. Yemen is a republic with an official Arabic language. Nearly 100% of the inhabitants profess Islam, who are also Arabs.
SUDAN (السودان)
It is a country located in the northeastern part of Africa. It borders with Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Chad, Libya and the Central African Republic. The followers of Islam and Christianity live here. Arabic, English and Nubian languages are used here. Sudan’s political system is a republic. In 2009, Sudan split into Sudan and South Sudan, which is no longer an Arab country.
SAUDI ARABIA (السعودية)
It is a country located on the Arabian Peninsula. It borders Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen. This is where Mecca and Medina are located. The political system of Saudi Arabia is an absolute monarchy. Arabs, Pakistanis, Filipinos and Ethiopians live here. Most of the inhabitants profess Islam, but Christians, Buddhists and Hindu believers are also present here. Saudi Arabia relies heavily on oil extraction.
QATAR (قطر)
It is a country on the Qatar peninsula in the Persian Gulf. Arabic is spoken here on a par with English. Qatar is a principality ruled by an absolute monarchy. Arabs, Pakistanis, Indians and Iranians live here. The main religions in Qatar are Islam, Christianity, Hinduism and Buddhism, but the entire local culture is controlled by Islam. The country is the seat of the TV الجزائر and the airline Qatar Airways.
BAHRAIN (البحرين)
It is a country located in Asia, in the Persian Gulf. Crude oil has been mined there since the 1930s. Bahrain’s political system is a constitutional monarchy. Arabs, Persians, Pakistanis, Kurds and Filipinos live here. Here you can find representatives of Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism and Judaism.
KUWAIT (دولة الكويت)
It is a country located in South-West Asia. It borders with Iraq and Saudi Arabia. The political system of Kuwait is a constitutional monarchy. Arabs, Iranians and representatives of Asian countries live here. The main religion is Islam, but you can also meet Christians, Buddhists and Hindus here. Arabic is the main language spoken in Kuwait, which is the official language.
LEBANON (لبنان)
It is a country located in Western Asia. It borders with Syria and Israel. Lebanon is a republic that uses both Arabic and French. Lebanese, Palestinians, Syrians, Armenians and Kurds live here. In addition to the followers of Islam, many Christians live here (nearly 36% of all religions). Demographic and cultural mosaic.
