Qareen is a spirit accompanying every human being. It is he who prompts a person to make bad decisions, but can also persuade him to do good things.

Qareen takes a seat on a man's shoulder, from where he whispers in the ear and advises or mischief. His behavior may drive some people crazy, but in the pre-Islamic era, he inspired and directed poets. It was even believed that the Prophet Muhammad was possessed by Qareen, however, the spirit later became a Muslim and rightly helped to guide the resulting empire.
